RTN is invicta

Im proud to announce that invicta have picked up RTN as our new CSS team. I wish the team the best of luck.

Introducing the new Invicta CSS lineup:

It's a great pleasure to be asked to represent Invicta, I have played with both Fasty and MGz in previous teams, and have grown to know them quite well over the years. Our previous setup team, RTN, was the brainchild of Boffy, and since he left we have struggled with roster issues and costs, so we were naturally on the lookout for a quality organisation to join - which we have found in Invicta.

Adam 'h3iki' Young

I'm the team leader for our squad, however I prefer to value everyone's input as equal, especially from the core members. I have played for many, many years, however this team is showing more promise than most, partly down to the friendship that we have formed over the past months. I am the primary rifler in the team, though I will occasionally use awps for picks as Terrorist.

Chris 'Tomki' Tomkinson

Chris is our secondary awper, and rifler. He hasn't played as long as some of us, but he has already shown he is more than capable of holding his own at this level. Chris has also been a core member alongisde myself since December when the original team was put together.

Joe 'Tinz' Tinsley

Joe is another core member who has been with us since the start. He is a pure rifler, though occasionally does have the tendancy to pick up the awp - and use it well. Joe has called for us in the past, and one of his main strengths is keeping very calm under pressure.

Sam 'Samich' Bell

Sam is the first of the new pickups, and is really showing some promise. Instantly liked in the team for his easy demeanour yet focused gamestyle, he hits all the bases with his play and will turn out to be a big hit in the CSS scene.

Rich 'Fax' Gregson

Fax is the second of our pickups, and is relatively unknown in the CSS scene, having only recently switched from 1.6, however he has impressed us in pcw's recently and becomes our new permanent 5th.

Thanks to Fasty and Invicta for picking us up - we hope to do you proud.

eSPORTS 180 arrive at CGS

e180 are here again.

WHAT ARE WE THINKING! our mix of stoned drunken layabouts have arrived and booked into the hotel.

We have managed to get ourselfs a ct half in b4 lagging out, but have been mostly in the oub drinking and gambling in the casino.

Hoping to gget top 16 is looking possible, but with single elim and one map, we definitly need to come out of the stocks racing, losing that first game could mean us losing out alltogether.

So far so good though, looks set to be another great event , with gonzos storys (foam + men = snog) and betas backstabbing, and not forgetting the amazing sir bait a lot graphix.

Im set to have a fantastic weekend wheter we win or not

What is the CGS 2008 United Kingdom Qualifier and Draft?

The CGS 2008 United Kingdom Qualifier and Draft is a live event where players will showcase their skills for the world and the two CGS UK Team General Managers in hopes of being selected to become CGS Team members. The purpose of the Qualifier is to give General Managers an opportunity to evaluate and meet everyone who is interested in joining the league.

Participants in the Qualifier will compete in structured tournaments, be selected to take part in Challenge Matches by the General Managers, test their reflexes using the proprietary H2i reflex-evaluation software and interview with the General Managers, who will use all of these factors to evaluate the potential of the players.

Immediately following the Qualifier, the 2008 CGS United Kingdom Draft will proceed in the great tradition of all major sports-league drafts. Each GM will have a chance to sequentially pick new players for their respective teams from the pool of Qualifier participants. Decisions will solely be made by the GMs.

Gaming Helps multi tasking ?

got this in an email and thought it was intresting.

The modern world is full of non-stop action — instant messaging, e-mail, video games, and it all seems to be happening at once.

If you're over 30, you've probably wondered why younger people aren't overwhelmed by all this stimulation. But their brains are simply trained to handle it.

Sustained practice at multi-tasking increases one's ability to pay attention to many things at the same time.

A major source of practice is playing action video games — you know, the kind most parents hate, where the aim is to shoot as many enemies as possible before they shoot you.

These games require players to distribute attention across the screen and to quickly detect and react to events.

In one study, college students who played action games regularly processed information more quickly, could track more objects at once, and had better task-switching abilities.

So, allowing your children to play computer games may not be such a bad thing after all.
